Fished a few hours on SSP yesterday with my brother was slow to start with then picked up as the flood started we ended up with 5 decent size Coley’s a Codling and a few Scorpion fish, most of the Coley’s were caught by my brother in the channel between the piers using a one up one down rig with size 1 hooks. Baits used were rag, squid and bluey (bluey accounting for most of the bites).
The Scorpion fish were caught straight down the side of the pier using light gear and small hooks tipped with a bit rag or bluey.
After that we moved down to the first set of steps and fished both sides where I got a decent size Coley fishing straight down the wall by the stairs which put up quite a fight on my light gear. My brother was getting quite a few bites on the opposite side but wasn’t connecting with them then eventually he managed to hook a small codling.
