Just got back from ssp. Got there bout 5 for low water. The wind was howling when I walked along. Port authority fella was just closing the gate when I got there. Managed to squeeze in between a few lads on the 40s. Not much doing. Had a few casts with one rod hoping for a plaice, rag on a blinged up flapper, but no joy. Got one Coalie bout 30cm in the hour I stayed there, just enough time to eat all my aldi pasties!.
The wind dropped as forecast so I moved up to the end for the ebb. Stuck 2 rods out with 2 hook flappers, rag n cuttlefish, one at about 60 yards, another maybe 80 or 90. Got bites from the off on the close in rod, dab, Coalies, double shot of Coalies. Was joined by a couple of lads about 7pm, then Nrgjim i think and another lad turned up shortly after.

One lad got a codling 1lb n a half at about 8 I reckon which he gave to me to take home for the missus, and some unused macky which came in very handy as i ran out of rag just after i got this fella:

Jim kindly handballed it up with the other lad holding his legs while he sprawled over the wall. 3lb dead on when I weighed it at home.
and the bites continued with this little treat shortly afterwards

Never realised the have nippers on the legs too.
Got one more just sized cod, which I would have put back if it wasn't gut hooked and bleeding badly, plus a few more Tommies from 30 to 34cm called it a day about 1am. Canny sesh, maybe 12 or 14 fish with 3 sized ones mixed in and a lobby. Best sesh I've had for a while.

Nice to meet you lads anyways if you read this. Hope that lucky macky did it's job for yous too. Nowt better than catching on free bait.

Was a canny session just a couple more small codling for me and jimmy got a nice plaice and another codling to end the night.
