SSP marks

I rarely fish into the harbour side on ssp, but Ive been told that the wooden post is a good mark. Has anyone fished from there much, and is it less snaggy on the flood or ebb?

I've only fished it on the flood , half decent cast you should be ok unless the pots are out mate , canny shot

It's a long range fishing mark Andy... As you used to get snagged at the 44 I would avoid it haha... Never fished it myself mate but as its in the river side small tides

Ooooh...I don't get snagged at the 44 anymore!

Thanks for all the pointers everyone else, I might have a few chucks from there next time I'm down (I'll use a rotten bottom just in case Marc :D).

I have seen a few lads fish it in winter though mate and they took quite a few nice codling so it defo will produce but I don't know a great deal about it to be honest. Go give it a chuck! (With ya rotten bottoms lol)

44 mark is. Good mark As it chucks up a fair few species

Aye, I do like 43/44, that's were I usually fish, I've had 8 species just from there already this year; but every time I walk past that post I always remember hearing that it's a good mark.

Marc - I might not even need the rotten bottoms, I've just bought (another!) new rod, so that should do the trick for a bit extra distance ;)

I've had decent codling from the post in winter and macky and small pollack from there in the summer but I have lost gear there too. Rough ground tactics and you will catch fish.

Best advice for extra distance is casting lessons mate
