I went down the bottom this morning and only had 1 mackerel. Little bit windy when I first got down there, just glad I didn't blank with going down for 5 lol.

Well done mate, a canny session for you. I walked passed you this morning, I was the one blue with the cold lol. I said morning to you, well one of you anyway.

I fished the big beach, near the pier just at the end of the rock line. 5.15am till about half 8.

Got 2 flounder on ragworm tipped with mackerel, one of them was fairly big for a flounder, biggest I've had. Quite a slow morning but happy I didn't blank.

It was a fresh morning for a change. Thunderpants, If you were wearing a leather bush hat, it was me who said good morning.

I got set up around 2.30, and before my first cast Geoff came over for a chat, after sorting him out with a shock leader, me owld mate Hooker and his ever suffering, Jude, turned up. Started just down from the small wall bait fishing, It was quite windy and there was a chill in the air. Not a touch on bait, so we moved down to the 44 mark.

I had one bite on a full ledgered Launce and one bite on Peeler but couldn't connect. Left the bait rod out when the sun (what there was of it ) came up. Had a few casts with daylights and caught three Mackerel over a period of time. Hooker was in a hot spot, catching almost every cast. Jude unfortunately got a les dawson chequebook.

It was a great morning out, nice not to have to suffer the heat as we have had in previous weeks.

Good company and good craic as always.
