wats the fishing like at st abbs and wat gear shud i take is the ground fairly rough do i use bait lures looking 2 fish 4 all kinds ov spices

i've been once, fished a place called the crocodiles back i think, had to climb/slide down a steep grassy slope, then climb up and along about 300meters of skeer and fish from the end, left was a sheer drop, front and right was more of a slope. Had pollock to 5lb on the float and redgill, and wrass to 4lb on the float on ragworm, the wrass went crazy for about an hour and a half. Even taking a bare hook once.

Also casting with the spinner got endless numbers of mackerel... few coalies too. was a good day!

So spinning, float fishing and redgill's is what i used.

wait m8 its 2 early, much better when it warms up.
i always wait until july - aug 4 abbs & eyemouth & u can get good fish with a few different tackticks,
all u need take is a good spinning rod that will take some stick, float, jellyworms, deep spun sandeels 4 pollock from 2lb-8lb
short snoods with rag or crab 4 wrasse from 2lb - 5lb.
i also take a big rod with me & fish big fresh crab baits 4 reddies, from 1lb - & b-ond.
many great marks 2 fish along that coastline m8 but can b very dangerous aswell if fishing 4 the first time.
get ya sell 1 of daves books the (cod crouch) everything u need know about abbs & eyemouth. or if u just want 2 try 1 mark 4 now try sending dave stores a pm, i'm sure he will help u out m8 daves a great bloke & will help any1 he can.
i met up with him & rod & they showed me a few marks & i have fished them a few times now with some nice fish.

Fishing up there is f****in mental mate. I prefer static fishing with bait, either rag, frozen crab or preferably fresh crab. Short chucks are all that's required and keep hold of yer rod when the fish are feeding.

when i fish up there i like to take a rock rod and send a good crab bait out as its very deep you can pick cod up and other species ive had wolffish too about 4lb . with a bass type of lighter rod i ledger down the side with maybe 2/0 hooks with crab or ragworm and target the wrasse great sport too or floatig for pollock and coalies

I think I've had more or less everything up there bar a wolffish. Might make it my summer target for 2011.:D

be very carefull on the rocks if there wet they can be very slippy, summer is by far the best time to try i normally fish around eyemouth caravan park the cannons and hairynees if fishing for the cod take plenty sinkers bottom is very rough
