Tried St Abbs head for the first time this year using the dinghy yesterday. Sea conditions were excellent in the morning Started off pretty c*** for me but my mate tho totally hammered the pollack using the home made spinners again. He had pollack to 3lb & some smaller also lost a rod bender could do nothing with it anyway as the morning contiuned the pollack & coalies kept coming 1 after another. By this time I was getting a bit sick catching nowt so we decided to go to the small island which shows in low water (lunch time) & tried some ledgered baits no joy on there. Back to the dinghy We got back in the dinghy & then the seastate changed it became quite choppie so we stuck it out for a while & am i pleased I did first drift along the sides of a cliff & my rod went nuts landed a nice pollack at 4lb 10 oz (gutted) then quite a few smaller ones 2.5lb 2lb & a few small coalies lost quite a few fish due to the rubbish Treble hooks we had on the spinners. Quite a few fishing up there spoke to 2 lads on the way back to the car who had wrasse to 3.5lb & some small coalies. Good day in all just suffering with a bit sun burn today haha
