Fished this area last night with steveb,Macca and a mate of mine.
Have been out a a lot for the last few weeks, at least three times a week, but had no internet connection so i've been unable to post reports

Anyway all i've had for my endevours is four fish, 1 at 1.5lb, 2 at about 2lb or just over and 1 at 2lb 12oz.

With the sea's being the way they have I have been on the verge of waving the white flag and chucking it in till summer!!!!!
Have fished everywhere, in perfect conditions and picked up just about nowt

So last night was do or DIE !!!!

We used a mixture of baits frozen crab, fresh lug, rag, runnydown, mussel and razor.

The night started slow with steve picking up a small coalie and then my mate getting himself a small codling.
Still we plugged away until I pulled in the ever present ROCKLING!!!!

I was using a pennel pulley with a 3/0 top hook and a 4/0 bottom hook, just incase there was a monster lurking about

About 1hr to bottom water I got a nice little rattle, I left my rod as my headlight was playing up and was attempting to fix it, when my rod began banging away

I struck in and felt a decent fish, i estimated it to be around the 4lb mark on the way in, so was praying it didn't drop off!!!!!!

My mate raced to the rock edge to help me land it and upon hearing whooping and shouting I knew I had a good'un

8lb 1 oz My new PB!!!!!!!

To say I was chuffed is an understatment as after all the hours I had put in I finally got my reward

I finished the night by getting a couple of small coalies, but it all had gone quiet!

Seems to be that way at the mo' a decent fish and then nowt

Anyway Happy hunting and here's me fish.

Well done on your PB Tony. The kelp forrests must have been sticking right out of the water last night. I had a walk down to the boiler last night at low water and managed to pick up 24 sinkers for my trouble and an Ian Golds rod rest in Cullercoats that belongs to John.f.

Cheers
Marty

Well done Tompa, worth the wait. And well done and thanks to Marty for finding my rod rest at the bottom of Cullercoats harbour !.
