starting a fishing club

I fish alone quite often and enjoy matches when i can get into them. i was thinking of starting a small club to run my own matches, i was wondering if their was any suggestions or help anyone could give me about how i would go about starting a club which would be free to join simply as a method of fishing together and organising matches between everyone where their would be a 100% payout from all money put into the pot
cheers

Just go for it mate...clubs often start as small informal gatherings then gain a more established structure through time

Many start off in the pub ;):D

Dropped out of the club scene for a variety of reasons myself but always enjoyed the social aspect which I think is as important as the fishing itself

Don't take yourselves too seriously is my advice as well

victor meldrew here, its a great idea, and i hope it works out for you.

be prepared for some challenges though, everything will be fine at first, then Mr disontented will appear, shortly followed by Mr greedy. not to be outdone Mr troublemaker will do his dirty deeds.then those lot will breed so there will be more discontented more troublemakers and certainly more greedys.

you will do your best to be justifier, peacemaker and mother and father to these individuals, until one day you wake up and ask yourself---why do i bother????,im better off on my own:exclam:

Cheers lads, hopefully it won't end up like that but there will always be one person who will ruin the fun ;)

In Hindsight - Over the years I probably got too involved with the clubs - just trying to help out really. But as you say, its always the odd one or two who really try your patience and nowt you do can, or will, please them. I eventually packed the fishing in, missed it, and eventually came back to it a few years ago. Met some canny lads via Richy on a roll 'northeast1' and look forward to every trip out.

I wish every success to the lad trying to get a club started, best advice i can give is, to enjoy your fishing for what it is and beware the 'mercenary'

as said, give it a go.GOOD LUCK.ps,would help us members if we knew your location, saying as your a newish member.as ive said GOOD LUCK,but dont know YOU or where you intend to run the club from.sorry if you think im nieve.

totally agree with ling king, you can't please all the people all of the time, I dropped out of club fishing because of all the cheating that goes on.
