Staying clipped casting braid

having recently made the switch to fishing braid over heavy ground, i'm having a bit of trouble keeping baits clipped down through the cast, i'm using pulleys and clipping direct onto the lead loop
anyone else having this problem or any suggestions or solutions ?

Just a thought.

Because braid leaders have far less stretch than mono, a jerky casting style might bump the hook out of the clip, whereas it might not have done so with mono.

I fish with both, and have to use a different casting style when fishing with a braid leader.

You could try a mono shock leader it might help.

It will only help give crack offs in the rings.

Smooth casting style, srt springs, tighter rigs and longer bait clips all help. Also if your using stretchy trace material it will compound the problem

thanks for the advice gents i'll take it on board and see if i can cure the problem
p.s i only use braid leaders with braid and the leads i use have the bait clip incorporated in the loop, it could be my rig body and snood, i'll have a play about cheers

Quite surprised on the comment I used a mono shock leader all the time. So far no problems but it might be due to the low diameter mono I use 0.50 mm for 58 lb BS (Teklon Gold). If I get problems I will switch to braid shockers.

Hi Flapper most of our local lads use an extended bait clip built in the lead works fine for most mate

I have to agree with Geordie, I struggled with this issue for ages messing around with different rigs and stuff. Just got some of Geordies leads with extended bait clip and spot on. Problem solved.
