me and mick dunn fished steetly today from about 1.30pm til 7pm between us we caught bot all. I had a nightmare, unable to hold bottom and loosing a good few sinkers.There must have been over 30 fishing at one point and i only saw 7 fish all day. A tiny whiting, a size whiting hooked in the tail, a undersized codling, 3 codling about 2lb and one about 5 lb.

The sea conditions were ideal but it just was not happening, and the weather! loads of snow storms during which the wind blowed a hoolie!!

Mick, in a sea like that there should have been plenty fish about, proof that the winter season is well and truely over. Pleased I stopped where it was warm, well done for braving it though, and cracking pics Ian.

never mind lads ,tell yous what though theres loads of stories ganning about at tackle shops ect that steetlys fishing its arse off ,i had an argument today about it with a beliver ,they must think were all thick ,anyone else heard the myths

Its called good business when you think about it. I mean if you ring up and the guy at the shop says there nowt doing cos the fish are full after the last blow the owner might as well sell up. Much better when you here "Lad came in earlier for more bait he was on Steetly and had just dropped a nine pounder -or was it heavier". Oh we also sell Blueys and peeler to go with the rag,squid,lug and razer.

they might have , but not when we were there. If you ask me its horse****e!


My rods are now away til the nesa trip to the mull in june.


Unless somewhere starts fishing its arse off in the mean time?
