Due to work commitments arrived about 11 and fished until 5ish.
Got into whities almost straight away,ended up catching loads also
5 flatties but the 1 that got away was just smaller than a submarine(slight exaggeration)2 guy were trying to handball it up when it fell off.
Bought 1 of whities home to eat but its riddled with worms,dont fancy it now, is this normal?

yes mate even some large whites are liftin wi worms ,its bad when you fillet them and a close look on the fillets themselves have worms coiled in them aaarrrgggg ,i never keep a whitey now ,hard lines on ther one you lost mate well done for report

Hard lines mate, I know how sickening it feels. Well done on the rest of the fish though. Quite a few whities this year are affected by those roundworms.

Aie them worms are rather disgusting, had a few cod which has been affected by them but not in the flesh just of it around the stomach, whiteys seem to be the most common victims of the gut worms.

I was on the Steetly Friday night as well with my mate, I think we got talking to you, we were the 2 young lad's standing over on the concrete pillar. Unlucky on the big fish but I know what you mean about the whitey. We ended the session with 8 whiteys and a flatty caught.

We had a cod bite about 6am just before sunrise but the line suddenly went light when reeling in, maybe it was the same fish you hooked earlier.

I bought a drop net but when its windy its not very effective. And its more stuff to lug about.And i have a feeling its unlucky cos everytime i take it i never get a decent fish.

Cheers, it wasn't the cod we were hoping for but it kept us entertained in the flat conditions.
