With the weather men saying the warmest day of the year and nothing more than a 8mph wind on any site a day of leave booked off to take my mam Dolphin and seal spotting.

We set off at 10am with a blazing sun ahead and a smooth sea.

We headed out and we fished for mackerel while keeping our eyes open..my mam as crew today and chief Dolphin and seal spotter. We took many mackerel and coalie in no time at all.

I am gald to say that we did spot a seal and it kept us watching as it lay on its back and chomped down a fish that looked like a big coalie.

After that i felt a few wrecks in order so headed to a couple we had nailed them on Monday...sad to say nothing at all doing and i mean nothing so we went abit further off and hit a ling and 3 cod upto 7lb.

We then started for home and fished a couple wrecks 4 miles off hitting a lucky patch that resulted in 14 more cod upto 5lb and a 5lb pollack for ther 3rd trip in a row.

So we headed in with 17 cod upto 7lb, 1 ling 5lb and 1 pollack 5lb alng with many mackerel, colaie, pouting and a whiting.

Above a few we kept, the rest went back.

Nice frew hours but not the numbers we had on Monday.

Both my mam and i getting about the same results with me using lures and my mam bait.

Perfect day for dolphin and seal spotting Rich :) , though I didn't see one all day and that's very unusual at Amble , I seen a whale on Monday though ;)

that cod on the last picture...i think its camera shy lol

still a pleasant day out with fish in the bag...and weather hotter than Barcelona today so what more can you ask! lol

Good fishing by the pair of you Richie. From the look of your pictures the sea was glassy calm, it picked up a little by late afternoon when we were out then dropped again but so did the drift speed.
Did you see how busy Tynemouth beach was; I bet there was a whale or two to be seen there?
