Well it maybe a week too soon but this is my 2009 boat fishing year report.

Weather wise 10th of September

Personal Catch wise 12th of September with 33 ling and 1 cod

Boats best day 6th of August with over 50 cod and ling between 3 of us.





Events to forget

21st of January sucked ice into the coolant system and destroyed the impela (£165 for the fix)

29th of June picked up rope in the river and used outboard to make it back and remove.

Mate from work slipped and bruised his ribs and pride + broke the door lock (£57 to fix)

Air Show

A cracking day anchored just off shore watching the airshow with family onboard and 2 lines in the water, nothing better than watching the Red Arrows blast over head as your unhooking a 2lb codling 




Distances


Furthest Out = 23 miles

Furthest South = 16 miles

Furthest North = 8 miles




New tactics tried


Red gilling close in but only resulted in 2 codling

Trolling lures resulted in nothing

Line fed live sandeel resulted in a ling every drop

Anchor up uptide of an inshore wreck, resulted in loads of whiting and 1 codling


So that was the year of 2009 and my 1st full year as a private boat owner, put some hours in picked up a lot of new tricks and met a few canny lads, may have the odd try out from now until November but I think that will be all folks until April next year.
