Set off at 6am with Big sid and mate and after a tough day Sunday i decided to go in a new directiona nd hit some wrecks i had never been to before.

Not the best call, after 7hrs the total catch from the 7 wrecks we tried was...not one single bite other than scotties and whiting.

Tried and tried perfect drifts but nothing at all...so thats the 1st wreck blank in the last 2 months for me..on the plus side we hit into mackerel bringing in 3 at a time so i re-stocked the freezer :)

Hard going but beats work..may give next weekend a miss so watch it be a goodun :)

I've heard this is good stuff for catching specimen Scotties Richy :p:D;)

Don't bother trying to work it out Richy , I've been trying for 40 years and still havn't got a clue why they feed one day and not another , what's worse , Graham has been out of Amble this morning and straight into cod when , like you , I couldn't get a bite off one yesterday :confused:
Are they there and don't feed ....... or are they just not there ?
No doubt within the next few years some gadget or gizmo will come on the market that tells us exactly what they are doing.......... then I quit :D

Worth plotting a few new wrecks out today anyway and then wiping them out the memory lol

Beats beening stuck at work.

Nar i leave the scotties to you Wallsendo :) i am happy with the mackerel :)

Yer it was not easy but sometimes you have to try new wrecks and sometimes they produce the goods.

Seems the fish have gone on holiday for a few weeks, it will just make the next good day out seem even better :)

It was great to feel the bang bang bang of mackerel on the drop.

Next time :)

Yer i know and its still fun.

Having a weekend off i think, give the my fav wrecks a change to recover that had been box netted on Monday :(
