strangest fish

was just wondering what fish alien to the N.E coast have been caught here a few yeaqrs ago i had a starry smooth hound of about 5lbs off shields pier gave me the best slack line bite ive ever had also gave me great pleasure putting it back

I caught 2 wrasse off the south gare at Redcar Its the only time I\'ve ever seen them around our coast dont know how rare they are though? Have any of you lads/lasses ever caught them? they were about 1lb and half-lb

Had A Haddock in the Tyne over the Xmas. Didnt know what it was until FLATHEAD enlightened me.

Two years ago Falcone caught a Conger from Shield\'s pier to win the NESA winter comp. About 4 1/2 pound I think it was but could be wrong.

Pierat - there were good numbers of Wrasse caught from So. Shields pier during last Summer - good sizes too.

Yep it was a Conger, Jim......can\'t remember the size though. There was a photo on here of Falcone with the eel, but since the necessary clear out of the photos on the server a while ago, it\'s no longer on the site.

Jimmy - My son Ian, had a dogfish of about the same size from S.Shields pier on the harbour side (the gate) about 3 years ago.

Personally, I\'d go along with Sless - strangest fish I\'ve caught off the N.E. coast is a cod.........lol

caught a red gurnard off the boat at hartlepool a few year ago only small like but the only 1 av seen caught round here
