Don\'t talk to me about leaving things till the last minute

We got the bairn one of those stunt bikes weeks ago, it\'s been stored at wor lasses parents, I rang her on the way from fishing to say I was gonna call in and put the bike together this afternoon, opened the box and shit my pants, pedals, brake discs, cables etc etc, never seen owt like it couldn\'t even find a pic of what it should look like. Rang her again to say you\'ll have to take the kids out I need my tools so will have to do this bike at home. I gave up at 3.45pm and rang Halfords who very kindly (after some harsh words) said they\'d help me out but be quick cos they shut at 5.0pm. It took 3 of them over an hour to assemble this bike and the front brake still wasn\'t working, in the end they had to take a brake off a more expensive bike. In amongst everything that came with bike there\'s 2 allen keys that don\'t actually fit anything and some garbled instructions for a mountain bike :casstet:

mind you was it not a hint when it came in 1ft cube box that it might have to be assembled LOL . . . . . . those spokes are sods to fit and tighten aren`t they

I hadn\'t even seen the box Norman, our lass got ALL the shopping this year, somehow I don\'t think that would of got me out of jail tho, she\'s been telling me to go and sort it all week.

Lol Keith, nightmare mate.

I have had no stress at all but I am still going out with Swmbo tonight for a good session on the beer. Taxi is booked for 19:30 and I have a mouth like a kangaroo\'s jockstrap so the first one won\'t touch the sides.

we bought the bairn a bike for his birthday a couple of years ago from Halfords,total nightmare Keith,took hours to build up my mate at work said you should ask them to build it for you at the shop,I\'ll know next time

Lol poor Keith ,well here\'s my pennys worth ,I DID get Halfords to build up a bike for me last year . The bairn was over the moon with it ,I obviously checked the brakes and handlebars before he went out on it BUT he came back holding one crank and his seat also came off ,the worst of it was that his mate had put the crank back in nice and tight at his house stripping the threads in the process and god only knows what he had done with the seat clamp as that would never work again ,won\'t be shopping at Halfords myself anymore .
PS I hope you\'ve all got stinking headaches this morning like me .

Got to admit I can\'t see this bike lasting too long, he hasn\'t tried it yet, nor will the wrestling arena complete with 500 stickers that HAD to be assembled at 5.30am yesterday
