Fished blyth pier monday night 7pm-1am me and me 2 fishing buds nicky and graham ' sea was pretty dead unusual as passing through tynemouth and whitley there was still a decent sea running anyway whiting were taking 4/0s instantly and a few fish were caught in the first 20 mins then the heavens threw the lot rain sleet hail a very stiff wnw wind very uncomfortable then the sensible fishermen started departing as the bad weather just hung around we found ourselves the last 3 on the pier apart from 1 lad on the bend he came over to us for a chat and guess who it was it was the lad from craster who caught that huss showed us the pic good fish' now the wind and rain and everything else dissapeared and it was a lovley evening then graham shouts he's into a goodun now he's a bit of a dramatist so i just carried on talking with the bull hus guy then he started screaming and swearing so i thought i better have a look we knew it was a good fish when it repeatley tried to pull the rod out his hands when it surfaced it didn't look as big as it was we had no dropnet but with the sea calm and flooding and no one else on the pier a walk back to the beach was a safe option nicky walked back to the beach with graham and when they returned he had a smashing 17lb cod beating his pb by 13.5lb well done..
