Subject: FRIDAY ALL NIGHTER 01.10.04TC

posted on 2/10/2004 at 06:20Got to the little beach at So. Shields at about 8:30 and in no time at all had the 1st catch of the night.......little codling around 1lb - returned.
Aboout 20 mins after that, Ian had the same (looked VERY much like my earlier one.....convinced it was the same one....lol)
Only other fish to be caught from there was a tiny Whiting......was lost in the palm of my hand.
Decided to go up onto the pier. After a couple more Whiting my rod gave the (familiar to some, rare for me), destinctive "cod nod".......ended up with a nice Cod weighing spot on 5lb....
Needless to say, I was chuffed to bits........that's me tea sorted for Saturday.....lol
Had a variety of bait with us.......Whiting liked the pigs liver
Got the 5lber on my favourite cocktail of lug, squid & mussel.
