just in from 4 days up north and have had a fish fest, went to mark x and had 48 fish out between 4 anglers over two 4hr+sessions,crab and macky being the top bait. went to a new mark today and i had 8 codling out to 5lb and my mate andy had 14, he had a nice fish to the side and i went to lift it as it was lipped and his hook length parted with the fish dropping on a ledge,i was going to grab it to weight it,but the sensible head told me no.quite rightly so the next wave swamped the platform i was on.
away out again tomorrow on the west with the boat.will post a better report later

heres the detailed report now i have sobered up a bit
went on the p*** on thur night fri and sat.
had a good four days away with the lads although it was a pity for some as they were choked with the flu.mon started pretty slow i was fishing a match and had 2 for 4lb tony had 1 for a couple of pound and the rest of the lads blanked.tuesday faired better with the sea having a nice lump on and plenty colour i had 10 to 3and 3/4lb tony had 5 to 4&3/4lb andy had 8 to 4&1/2lb and richie had 5 to 3lb.the 3 lads that went to usan blanked, poor chris spent the day in bed choked up with flu.
wednesday seen the same sea conditions but very windy from the s/w so we went looking for sheltered marks the wind started to ease a bit so we went to tuesdays venue again and andy and myself tried a gulley 300yrds to the south of tony and richie, and we had fish instantly i ended up with another 8 to 4lb and andy had 6 to 3&1/2lb,mid session it went a bit slow for us and thats when tony started catching and he had 4 to 3lb richie had 1 for a couple of pounds.chris had went north with the other lads and had 1 to 3lb the other lads had a couple of coleys.tony won the trophy, money, beer, with his near 5lb codling but his celebration was short lived as both he and ritchie ended up with the bug and didnt have a good end of holiday scoop.on thursday andy and myself went to check a new mark that we had found on wednesdays scout about and in 4hrs i had 8 to 5lb1.5oz andy had 14 to 4lb 3oz and lost a nice fish about 7lb when i went to lift it from a rock edge the hook lenght snapped and it was lying there, thought about grabbing it to weight it before returning it but the next wave took it of the ledge.looking forward to jan /feb as there should be a good couple of doubles of these near virgin marks.
