I had aimed to stay a bit longer but decided to pack up as the wind picked up and I wasn't getting any more bites. Decided that the climb over the gate looked easy in daylight but coming back over for the first time in the dark might not have been wise.
For the first three hours I had some huge missed bites and six micro codling, all under 6-8 inches, a 30cm whiting and two angry crabs, all came on rag tipped with mackerel. Did nowt on mussel, lug or squid. About an hour before high tide the bites packed up and the wind started. Got annoyed with my tripod falling over once and chipping my new rod and a rat nicking some bait so packed up, bought a kebab and chips and came home.
