Fished at seahouses yesterday with Gav, had a good days sport took 5 cod best being 4lb and a nice wrasse, gav had 3 cod and 2 wrasse one nice one around the 4 1/2mark. ive had my eye on a island up there for the last 4 years and managed to get on it with the big tide, first cast good bite but missed it then managed to get into a few fish, top bait was frozen crab and kippers in chillie sauce, Gav once again got it wrong and turned up with kippers, with black pepper.

Are you being serious, you use kipper?
Is it any good or is it only work for certain marks ie. rock or sand?

Can't understand Gav trying to use black pepper kippers, everyone knows its got to be chilli or nothing.

Davey your right, chilli or your wasting your time, last time i went with Gav he got it wrong again, and brought garlic butter flavour kippers, but frozen crab has been fishing well lately. John ill speak to Rob over the weekend find out how your getting on.

If i did turn up with kippers they wouldnt last long, the bigman eats anything in front of him!!
Thats the second time this week frozen crab has outfished fresh so its worth bearing in mind.Remember getting my arse kicked in the tyne for flounders a couple of years back by frozen too.

Good few fish there Scott and Gav, i am fishing with Tony on sat but not made our minds up whether to go down beadnall or have a few hours up burmouth way. seems like there's a few fish round beadnall might give it the edge on the decision. Scott can you let Tony know where to get the chilli kippers for sat

Looks like Jim and me are up Coldingham way on Monday ,is it right that pickled herring is fishing well at the moment or will I HAVE to get chilli kippers, maybe a cocktail would work ,prawn cocktail and a wedge of lemon ?

I find that when I'm using pickled herring, I get pestered with Bluefin Tuna - anybody else find that?

I used to use prawn cocktail, but it was a tw*t getting the hook through the glass dish. Tried using Prawn cocktail crisps instead but they were rubbish.
