ventured off to steetly. fished from around 2 til half 7. windy as fook early on and hard to see bites. about 3oclock i changed from a 4/0 pennel loaded with runnydown to a 2 hook 2/0 rig with thin macky strips. first cast.....a little flounder. caught a few more and then a decent one to about a pound...maybe a pound and a half. a bloke not far from me had about 10 and another on the other side was caught 2 at a time on a pennel rig. loads of flounders and dabs were caught on the end....but no cod.

it went quiet for a while and then it happened...............just as the sun started to go down the whiting attacked. i hate the bloody things! so i caught a few of those and a tiny codling. it got really crowded on the end with about 7 people fishing the left hand side facing towards sea. got **** ed off with catching line so moved further down. didnt get another bite off the next two casts so called it a day. decent day overall.

all fish were returned apart from one whiting that was badly hooked.........the dog has a new toy and is currently rolling around on it in the garden lol
