Fished from seven till about midnight and caught two Codling. One was just under three pound and the other just over two. I thought the first one was a monster. what a bite. Nearly had me rod out of the stand lol.
High light of the night was before I fished. Saw a guy coming off the pier with an 18 1/2 pound Cod. Well done that man.

it's possible that it was lifted without a gaff - a mate of mine lifted a 14lb fish from west pier (although it did cut his hand)

Aye Davy my money would go on it being dragged to the beach mate. Wouldn't try and risk the fish of a life time by trying to lift it up there.
Dean he didn't come off the pier till 6:45 pm last night. It would be impossible to make a newspaper that quick.
