posted on 3/7/2005 at 22:29A few of us fished Sat/Sun. Saturday fished down from Dunskey Castle, Portpatrick. A bit onshore wind picked right up coupled with less than ideal tide times meant it was a bit disappointing. A few small wrasse and Pollock. I then got three wrasse to size before it went quiet. Boyd Weddle then got a good wrasse on the float close in weighed at 3lb 9oz. Boyd is a course fisherman new to sea fishing so a good start.
Sunday went to East Tarbit to shelter from the westerly winds. A few small pollack and wrasse and some mackerel and launce but nothing exceptional. Got what I think was a pipefish on a spinner out of the weed, foul hooked though but never seen one before.
Plenty beer and cracking food in the Harbour House Hotel on the front. Good guest house for B&B at £25 per night if anyone needs it.
