went to the black path at teatime today but there was already two lads on there i had a bit natter and one said he had a five pounder of johnsons earlier on so i went over to the rock on the left to fish fished till 7.30 all i got was two coalies and a wrasse about a pound never saw the other two lads catch owt but i seen one of there tackle boxes slide into the water i think he got it back good job there wasnt a sea on that place is very dodgy anyway when are we going to get a decent sea on sick as ****

Aye your right Tony it is not too clever mate. I was going out tonight but changed my mind when I had a look at it.

aye willy normally in rough ground like that theres a good chance of a cod especially using crab but nevermind i cant wait for next friday ill be watching the weather all week ( it cant get any worse surely)

Aye Tony, I was driving back into Shields along the coast road at about 2:00pm and seen 2 lads leaving their car and head off over the leas with all there gear. I remember thinking to myself, "I know where you're going".....lol.......and YES, it's VERY dodgy. Doesn't look too bad looking down on it.....different matter when you're actually trying to keep ya feet on it

I know where the Black Path is,more or less,whats wrong with it ? Slippy or steep ?

its abit of both but i would recomend that you stay on the top if your fishing high water its only dodgy down the bottom

Al - you need about 2 stone of lead Lol - if you come back with any more than a stone you`ve been fishing the the wrong bit of the black path .

Had my biggest ever shore caught cod from the rocks on the right of the black path 2 years ago this November using a stuffed squid bait on a pennel, casting into the hole straight in front. Always seems either too slippery or too rough in the winter for me. Had some good coalies in the summer though
