Fished the pipe and Whitley beach today from 5pm-11.30pm.
Went to the pipe first to catch the last hour down. Conditions were calm but was splashing over the end when I got there so started halfway up. Had lug, rag, mussel and mackerel. Worked my way to the end using variuos cocktails to no avail. Then as the tide started to turn and was about to move back down had a cracking bite but missed it !! Was to busy fannying about with little rod I'd taken to try some lure and float fishing. Anyway moved down and set up both rods and bingo, nice size flattie on me big rod and just as I got it in my little rod went crackers, a small coaley. chucked them both out a few times more me big rod was getting some taps and me little rod gave me a scorpion fish, close in on a float! Left at 9pm due to the tide and went to the boatyard. Fished till 11.30pm with me big rod only using rag and macerel on a 1up/1down rig with size one hooks and got another two flatties, both of which were too small so went back. Was getting a bite per cast and would have been there longer but ran out of bait
Cheers to bribones and Alan for suggesting the marks, wasn't expecting to much with the way it is at the minute, was only out really to get out the house so to catch was a bonus
Cheers Tompa
