Had planned to fish Seaburn or Roker beaches but flat as a witches with the westerlies so took the lazybones (or is it the Bribones ) option and fished within spitting distance of the car at a mark on the Tyne (within the comp boundaries I might add )

Strange night as none of the usual tactics worked for that area so we started to experiment with distance, rigs, bait etc and hit on a winner (and boy what a night we had after that )

Fished long flowing traces baited with large (for the hook size) cocktails of razor and mussel casted out only 40-50 yards and we hit fish after fish. Got to the point where we dropped down to only fishing one rod each to try and make the bait last.

Ended up with 29 fish; 2 coalies, 2 plaice and 25 whiting and only 4 of those would have been undersize.

You've got to accept that you're gonna lose a sh*t load of tackle here and we also had the added hazard of chav's aiming fireworks at us for a laugh (yeah, I'm still p*ssing myself laughing lads, so cheers for that )

Our Davey did Jim and he was "fobbed off" to put it politely, even though 2 rockets went off at his feet as he was on the phone.

I bet they'd have been down there in a flash if we had clouted the little tw*ts though

Just shows after all the rain i thought any marks near a river would be a waste of time.
Pity about the idiots and the cops reaction.

A waste of good lead Steve, had thought about casting an unbaited 3 hook flapper at them, but I was using Kamasans

Fished at the walkway today 12 - 4. Ended up with 2 size whiting and a coalie. Match was won with 3 codling and 7 whiting. Fish came on the start of the flood and then dropped off when tide picked up. Got the coalie in the last half hour when the bites picked up and then lost another straight after when shockleader snapped close in. Looks like it had a nick in and parted.

Other fish from Mill Dam, Viking Park and a couple of other spots along the Tyne but nothing great. Biggest fish was tied at 41cm codling.

Post full results tomorrow when i get all the details.
