fished whitley bay this afternoon using two rods. decided to put out a big bait on a pennel and 2 smaller baits on a 2 hook rig. 1st cast produced a rockling and a crab on the two hook rig. about an hour later i used 4 runnydown folded in half and wrapped in elastic (nice big bait) and wacked it about 120 yards out. 15 mins later.....tap tap on the rod tip. i landed a huge.......................crab . packed up about a 2 hours later after no more nocks.

hadn't been out for around 2 weeks so was just happy to get out fishing. it was a really nice night, just me on the beach and loads of stars out. the sea seemed to have died down alot since this morning. hopefully it'll pick up again. probably out on sunday after my big delivery of bait

regards,

Hard lines m8, had a look at whitley about 11.30 (the 1st parking to st marys) but didnt fancy paying 50p per hour fo parking so went to colywell bay and fished the ramp untill 15.00
caught nothing, not even a bite. using crab and lug.

Hard luck lads, that's fishing i suppose at least you both gave it your best shot, it appears that most places are quite at the moment. Things might improve towards the end of the week when the big spring tides kick in, hopefully? Cheers
