Hi
Well I've had a couple of outings on the boat and enjoyed them although not caught a great deal!
I've already'ran into' my first problem which is now stopping me from going out.
Coming back from a outing I 'think' I hit something.. there is no damage from what the eye can see but I've now got the following problem so hoping for a bit of advice.
The engine starts up fine first off and is a mariner 2 stroke 60hp.
Putting the engine into gear and you can hear the rev's but the prop is not spinning (forward or reverse)
Been reading up and found that sometimes the props will need changing after a knock as something inside dislodges.. so tonight I've been and tried a spare prop I had onboard but the same... plenty of rev's and bubbles but looks like the prop still does not spin.
I had the engine tilted tonight when changing the prop and tried a few things to give a better idea of what the problem could be so with the testing I found:
in netural the prop spins both ways with my little finger.
Put the engine into gear and its still spinning but stiffer and if you spin it, it will come to a point when it's stuck but a little shove get's it spinning again.
I also noticed that putting the throttle into forward you could sort of hear something engaging around / behind the prop.. no idea if this is normal.
So any suggestions are welcome as I have just about 0 knowledge of engines and I don't want to miss out on to much fishing!
Cheers
JP
