After going out on Saturday and having to come straight back in due to the wind I decided to give it another go, and the sea couldn't have been more different.
I spent the day drifting rough ground and some wrecks and managed to finish the day with 11 codling and a pout, the biggest going 4lb 13oz. I spent the last hour playing around, trying to get something bigger as I thought I had enough codling. I will have to find a method that targets bigger fish. All my fish were taken on a baited muppet, on a 3ft trace.
Sorry about the pictures, they are my best effort at self photography.

Well done mate, looks like you had a fair few cod there.

Pictures are good.

When you suss out how to pluck the bigger fish out, give me a shout lol.

Good stuff Geoff decent bag mate keep up the good work;)

ps good self photo too how did you pic the fish up in time lol:D

With difficulty mate! Any nearby charter boats must have thought I was trying to juggle the fish. I need to set up one of those pound shop tripods I think.
I was really pleased with the day, the cod seemed to do exactly what they are suppose to, they must have been reading the fishing books for once. They might not be big fish, but I caught them one my own rigs, and it meant I was getting my drifts right.

I would catch fish like that all day mate no problem hope this weekend brings some calm weather maybe sunday bit early to tell yet though Its good when you get it right very satisfying:)

The charter boats would have been thinkin you were showin off so many fish to throw abou lol:o:o

We fished that day and it was one of those upside down type of days. It was hard going in the morning then after dinner the sea flattened and the fish came on. The best fishing from Whitby was 3.pm onwards when we were steaming back in.
