Had a (KAYOS) trip on JFK cancelled due to weather, so we decided, once the wind/swell has settled to give it a go on my boat.
We have been aware of huge tides, so made a decision to start 4 am on Saturday at crack of dawn.
A lad cancelled due to sickness so it was me and Chris going out on a lovely morning.
We went to a 4 mile wreck in hope of some macks and maybe some early fish. Macks were bangbangbang and the tub full very soon. We also managed to get a few cod and ling and Chris pulled up his new PB cod of well over 10lb.
A few more wrecks all in the 6-7 mile range and we caught a good mixed grill of cod, ling, pollock, coalies.
The tide started running to ridiculous numbers and we we went home just at lunchtime.
I reckon it was, conditions considering, an excellent day with about 25 keeper cod, pollock and ling, most over 5lb.
Congratulations to Chris for his biggest ever cod !!
I hope Chris and David will add a few photos to this thread....
