Anyone sacking off fishing and going to the Sunderland air show?

I am heading out about 9am and dropping the anchor at Sunderland and watching the air show Sat if the weather holds, slight sea with sw winds Sat but all could change.

Sunday being a fishing day i hope :)

The usual regime is out at 4.00am , fish till 11.0 then go to airshow till about 2 or 3 depending on show and weather :) .........

The Vulcan is expected to be there on Saturday ......... whooo hooo what a sight that`ll be (and noise)

hope to be there too, early start and and then back inshore for the show. the vulcan is only booked for saturday but really want to see that. i believe the exclusion zone is from the end of the north pier to somewhere off whitburn steel this year.

Is it a 10.00am start for the planes? Will be the first time we've been down on the boat, look forward to seeing you all!

Thats a large zone this year then :(

I will just be going out for the air show, only fishing i do is a 2/0 flapper over the sand bank when watching the show

With some kids on i may end up going shark fishing as i can see me wanting to make a rubbydubby bag up after a few hours :)

am defo not gan this year been ther the last 5 years n nowts changed u better off gan 2 otterburn u get a brtter show

Must have been boring as called off last year due to fog, nothing much flying at all just the odd show on the land.......

Sunderland Echo page:- The flying programme for this year's Sunderland International Airshow (2008) became a victim of the weather when sea fog on the coast grounded the aircraft.

Huge crowds flocked to the show on both days, however due to poor visibility over the sea they were unable to see the aircraft, It was the first time in the show's 20 year history that the aircraft became grounded.

Only fished close in down there once and had a couple of codling and loads of whiting, the ground is mixed, sand mainly but odd patch of rough.

Still cant find anything that says what time the 1st flight is...take it is 12 noon? all i can find is the start of the show on land at 10am
