Had a trip out on mates boat today. Three of us including bairn, with cracking bait covered ground from Whitburn down to Hendon, including a couple of wrecks. Three rods out for about four hours. Can honestly say, not one of us had a bite. Can't believe it. I thought that things were slow on the shore at the moment, but not one fish to show from the open sea. Bairn was gutted. We got soaked for nowt. Got back for rugby though, so not to bad.

unlucky on the catch, i had planned to go on saturday, conditions on the morning looked ideal, often when i decide not to go i tend to miss out on good catches.

There is some decent forecasts for the week ahead so theres always another time.

At least you got out there mate :)There was a few boats out off Sunderland yesterday and no fish getting caught, the boat next to me had fish last week that were still stuffed with sandeel, he said his fish finder was black at times with shoals of them.
Back end of March and they should have moved off...
