Looked at the webcam this morning and decided the weather was too good to miss.
Had 1 pkt of lug, 1 pkt rag and frozen runnydown, my freezer in the garage packed in sometime last week and i lost about £100 worth of bait, gutted :(
Had a few hours drifting and was plagued with wrasse and whities with the odd undersize codling thrown in off the rough ground at Hendon. So opted to go to cleaner ground off the drum head and do a bit uptiding.
Tried out anchoring after stripping out the windlass yesterday to sort out a sticky freefall clutch and it worked a treat. I had 5 codling 1 just on size, 4 undersize :). First time i've been out solo on this boat but everthing went great, even getting her back on the mooring, big confidence boost. Really enjoyed today after 8 weeks of poor weather.
All fish were returned so looks like jam sarnies for tea.....:(

I thought there might have been a few size fish about with the stir ups we've had , was nice to see the wrasse though they put up a good scap on light tackle, if i put rag on they nailed it straight away. there were a few boats out today, might get some posts on how they got on,
:)
