Im going out on the jfk for my first boat trip soon so i dont want forget nowt.ive got....

pirks,leadheads with blue shads,daylights,hokais and im going to take some ready made traces for use with mackeral which im still not sure what rig to use? breaking strain etc,,

try getting some orange squid jigs/lures for the cod and ling, they are supposed to work pretty well, they are cheap on ebay , around £4 for 5 packets

whatever you take, first person to ask what to use would be alan (skinner), he'll know whats likely to be the best at the time

Yep Mr. Skinner has to be the bloke to ask ,Jimmy his deck hand seems to do quite well also ,he might be worth a try .

what you listed at the start sounds spot on mate take some 60lb mono just incase and as for bait fishing ask the skipper or deck hand he will soon knock you a rig up but this time of year the hockeyes/day lights ect will do you fine
