A humane hour was clled for with the poor wind early on in the morning and the tide. Out of the piers for 0700 with the gulls diving in the fresh/salt divide at the end of South Shileds Pier.
Once clear of the piers it was apparant it was not gong to be a flat day and we took our first big wave straight over the bows when we were setting up the first drift. I have to say XC wether got it spot on today as the weather dropped exactly when they said it would and we were left with a big slow-ish swell.
Ono the fishing anyway! First couple of wrecks the drift speed was super fast due to the wind but we still picked away:
Moving venue a few times was the order of the day and we found a couple of wrecks that still produced over slack water;
The quality of the fish today was top drawer.
I landed the biggest today, just! All guesstimate as Darren has got the scales in his bag from last trip off! Doh!
No where near as many pesky mackeral today and I can't wait for tuesday!
On the way in Micky was gutting one of the cod and found this in it's stomach!
I may be wrong but I think this is the same as Team Slinky use and may be from a fish they lost last weekend!!!!!
