Hi lads, I haven't managed to get out a great deal over the past few weeks, what with my car failing it's mot, mega bucks lol! but I'm back on the road now looking for fish.

So here's an upshot of how it's been gannin for me.....

My last trip to St Abbs about the end of September where there were lots of chunky coalies and a few pollack all taken on delta eels. Lost a nice pollack to around 5lb, at least I managed to see it!

I've not been bitten by the cod bug as of yet and instead I've had two successful trips looking for bass and flatties in Northumberland.

A bass each time with any amount of flounders to.....

I've also had a couple of small codling from Lynemouth and Shields pier but nothing startling as yet.

Locally the Tyne seems full of crabs at the moment so it's been hard going down there, few whiting and titchy codling for me.

So I hope you like the pics and just maybe I can get into some cod action soon. Tightlines, J.V.

Hi there , thats a cracking looking beach . I would rather fish the beach than piers any day . Any chance you could say which beach that is ?

some canny fish dave m8 & bass also, great 2 here your back out m8 & well done.
there has been alot of bass on our beaches this season m8 but i have'nt targeted any as yet.
bill.

Well done on the bass mate!

I've been putting a lot of time in myself on the beaches still hoping for bass, but none yet, loads of flounder, small codling, coley and rockling. What bait did the bass take?

Ragworm tipped off with a small section of sandeel seems to do the trick. Have used black lug to but without much success strangely. Haven't tried lures though as it's been a little rough for it when on the beach.

Nice one JV some canny pics there and some nice fish. I've only managed one bass this year and that was caught on rag, I had no luck at all getting one on a lure. Oh well, there's always next year :)
