Had a canny night on the end of the old pier Sunday night, the winds dropped off so it was a lot better got 3 cod, 2 whiting and a flattie, I wouldn't normally have kept the flattie but it took the pennel rig right down, I lost a cracking cod on the lift, my own fault, I new the trace was a bit frayed but didn't bother to change it, lesson learned there, the fish lost was 10lb+ the guy fishing next to me said I took it all extremely calmly as he would have been kicking stuff everywhere, but I've lost a few big ones down the docks over the years so I just put it down to win some lose some, even though deep inside I was kicking my arse for not changing the frayed rig, everything took on fresh crab apart from the smallest whiting that was took on lug.
You don't useually learn something unless it effects you badly... Like burning your hand on something...
