This weather!!

We booked a wee 6 hour trip out of Eyemouth on Sunday to get our eye in for the smorgasborg of boat trips we have planned in the North East from 1st July. We haven't been on a boat for almost a year now, so thought we could do with the practice.

However the weather put paid to that! Rain of biblical proportions and 50mph gales! It is June! I was awoken twice last night with the wind howling down the blocked up chimney and it is still raining!

Even the mall is flooded - love the "summer sign!"

Please tell me that it will all change in the next few weeks!?

I'm sure you'll strike it lucky this year, best of luck,
As you'll have seen by the great reports, the North east coast is on fire at the moment.........but just a thought............, when the weather fairs, with fish around, you do realise the pressure is on to perform :)

don't be fraying Lynns snoods and blunting her hooks........oh and if the plastic tube is still on the shad hook let her know.......

are you out of Hartlepool this year ?

I have been reading the reports with great interest, as well as some trepidation, as it is bound to switch off before we get there!

Lynn, I am sure, will be her frustratingly lucky self, while I will do my best as always and no doubt fail. :( As always though, my hopes will be sky high!

Not sure yet if we will be out of Hartlepool on a charter, as we are based in Whitley Bay.

Launched at 8:30 this morning, very light breeze and 1ft swell, by 10:30 South easterly wind and starting to chop up. Called it a day just after the inshore forecast. Managed a couple of codling to 4lb.
Last time out heavy rain stopped play, the time before it was Hailstones (not nice in a small open boat).
It's been like this since the first trip out in April.

As long as the wind dies down by the end of the month! First nice day here in weeks, sunny and warm(ish). :)

The good thing is we can go any day when we are down. Had one charter called off last year due to wind, which is not what you expect in July!!
