Well weather seems to be in a bit of a holding pattern for this weekend so maybe its a goer for a change ...............
Lookin forward to a few friends on board for a \"special day out\"
probably try the 3 then 5 mile wrecks ... is there any mackerel left or have they gone for the season, ah well , find out saturday no doubt.
OK so whos out, what boat am I going to be calling on chan 8?
There`s still some BIG BIG ling on the wrecks, and still cod around as well , lets go get em .................................
glo sticks in hand ...... no forget that they don`t work anyway :) :) :)

They better work Norman, 400 landed on my door step this morning!

Orange ones look good ;)

Skull\'s party on friday night so dunno if Shady or The Boys will be out on saturday, winter breakaways comp on sunday! :D

Al be out this weekend hopefully :D

Whats the killer rigs for ling then Norman ? Av still not had a single one this season ;)

Ha Ha LOL Keith its not luck mate ............. he`s a natural (don`t tell im though :) )

codfather, big bait on the wrecks produce ling. main method is one long trace (about 6-8ft) with an 8/0 hook and a full mackerel fillet. However if you fish anything with big bait over wrecks you should get into ling, try 5 or 6 /0 daylights with squid bodies tipped with rag.
Better if there`s mackerel about but i fear they may be thin on the ground by now.

LOL well , here we are Friday again and the wind building.
Still, got ragworm and squid at the ready and hopefully will give it a go tomorrow if the wind keeps down, forcast 14mph SW so may be ok ............... catch me on ch 8 anyone else out ... :)

If anyone went out today, what was the sea state like? Fore cast looks a bit better for tomorrow, might get out if it\'s not too rough.

It was a bit bumpy early on Phil, we only stayed out 1/2 an hour, hangovers all round! looks a lot flatter now though.

Just got back from hartlepool and it is flat as anything at the moment and the wind seems to have dropped it is about 3mph at the moment (not the forecast 14).

Had a look down the pool earlier this morning but it was a bit to choppy for our boat.
Managed a few ours out yesterday morning (friday), the mackerel were still their in huge numbers, could have filled the boat. A load of whiteys and a loanly 2 to 3 lb codling was the total bag.

Went out today, fishing about 2 to 3 mile off between St.Marys and Blyth harbour. Left at about 11am and back in at 3.30. It was a bit lumpy exiting the harbour, but once we were out it was ok. Bit of a swell, but the boat we were in was stable.

We ended up with a bucket of Mackeral, Whiting and 2 cod - best at about 5lb.

cheers

Stu

LOL , just waiting for my crews catch report :) :) :) but here`s a clue . . .

Nice one lads!

Steve, a little tip, don\'t sit anywhere near the side of Norman\'s boat like that if he\'s within reaching distance of the throttle :D

LOL Keith haha

what time were you out, we passed and seen boat moored so thought you`d just not made it out ......... :) :) :) how was scull by end of the night? :) :)

Bert and me ventured out about 8.30am got out the piers and both decided we\'d made a mistake, I left at 10.20 last night and was feeling ill so god knows what Bert was feeling like, he didn\'t get in till 2.0am.

I think Scull was still going strong at 3.0am - Great Night! He was well chuffed you popped over for a pint, nice gesture!

strange day today (see steves catch report), went to blyth at 6.00 to check the sea (I know, black dark LOL used the headlights and the lighthouse sweep :) )
so decided too big a sea to go out so text steve and went back to kip LOL only to wake at 8.30 and see wind had dropped........
so went out (passed yous about 9.45) LOL big seas etc but ended up calmish with more cod(ling) than you could poke a stick at ........
Great fun with the \"shall we keep it or put it back?\" questions :)
loads of mackerel still as well which was a surprise, just a shame we couldnt get to the more distant wrecks for big ling, got about 4 mile out to Aqua Star.

ps great to se scull havin a good time (or is that now scuff?)
