Time Wasting

I wonder when it became acceptable to ask for someone to save some items for sale until the end of the week for them, then get a message 2 days before the day of delivery saying that they were going away now and would not be back until Wednesday and would I hold them for him until today. That was the last message from him despite me messaging him several times. Almost 2 weeks wasted where i could have potentially sold them to someone who wanted them.

name and shame Jason, so he/she does not waste anybodys else's time.

Sorry to here about this Jason and I agree totally, name and shame cos we do have a few fools on this site now and this type of thing needs putting a stop to.

This forum is a great tool for buying and selling fishing gear but things like this spoil it and could have it closed down.

thats bad news jason, and yes the vast majority of lads on here are sound and men of their word, but theres always the odd few that waste peoples time, i once went to meet someone to do a deal was me that was selling and went out of my way to meet and the muppet didnt even turn up

Kettle pot...Pot kettle!

Seeing as there has been no communication at all from the person or common decency. Nathan92 was the person who said he would have the items and then messed me about.

I'm always wary of naming and shaming as mud sticks whether true or not.And could possibly ruin a persons or businesses reputation for one mistake or it turns out that the business or person had a good reason for letting you down that's just my opinion.

Nathan92 has 25 posts and couldn't have posted in the for sale section so you must of made these arrangements via pm or otherwise, this very thread is one the reasons the rules were changed.

I do understand the name and shame bit but have given him plenty of time to respond to my communications which is why I did not name and shame immediately. I do appreciate that people and circumstances change but believe in common decency and manners. If now there is a communication between us and I wrong in my post and that there was a valid reason for not doing the right thing and letting me know I will be the first to put my hand up and appologise.

Jason,

The rules preventing members without 40 posts being active in the trade section were introduced so anyone buying or selling in there would be known and hopefully trusted. If sellers choose to do deals via private messages this limited level of protection doesn't apply.

ps.

Nearly pm'd you for those rods but decided I really don't need more than 9 boat rods. :D

pss.

See the smoggies got hammered again :D

you need at least 12 rods keith:exclam::exclam::exclam:

To be honest keith i think 40 posts is nowt mate it should be higher maybees 100. But thats just my opinion before anyone gets on my case:rolleyes:

I know what you mean, there are a few members that use this site purely to sell gear, they have no intention of joining in on the forums.

The trade section is not easy to moderate, there's sometimes grey areas when stuff that could be fishing related is posted for sale. I upset Mr Charlton the other week when I removed his caravan for sale thread. :red:
