I have a dc 8, black, this is the unground version, meaning the Glass wasn't machined off in production, very rare.
Has a carbon butt not the aluminium, Fuji rings, foam grips on butt and fuji reel seat.
There was a few lads preferred the unground tips for extra stiffness !! remembering this was the stiffest rod on the market at the time. Lifting 6 and 7lb cod with it was a problem just a knack to it.

When you say "still stiff" will only be when your holding the rod and you see. Stiff to some isn,t stiff to others
