TTLD is a cracking rod and much more powerful and capable than many give it credit for. It is ideally suited to 125 and 150g leads plus bait, it will cast the 175 but you need to put the power in slowly and not snatch at the cast. On the field I've put the 150 over the 200 yard mark; granted it is not a field casting pole and I got much farther with the CM Crest but it shows what the rod is capable of.
Most of all it is an excellent fishing rod. Light, slim and pretty good bite detection. It is ideally suited to clean - mixed ground, I use mine on the Durham beaches and off Roker pier and fairly often on Shields as well as in the rivers (I tend to use my M4 Evo off the end of Shields or on the rougher marks).
It will suit all casting styles - I usually pendulum cast the 150g with mine but it will also do well enough with an overhead thump as long as you don't snatch at the cast - smooth and progressive is the way to get the best out of it.
My only fault with the rod is the cheap and nasty Century reel seat that usually breaks after a couple of trips. Swapped mine out for a 22mm Fuji seat that I cut a couple of grooves in to where the coaster goes and it is much better now.
