Todays Fishing

Well me and a couple of lads were ment to be going to st abbsthe day but weather wasnt up to much so decided just to give a few local areas a shot:

1st was s/s pier got there and sea was pretty rough:( and was raining but give it ago any way,

smallest 1 av seen caught, foul hooked on spinner few more sandeel caught

tried fishing bait and spinning but nothing else caught.

shortley moved else where as weather started getting worse.



Next we headed to blyth harbour for a bit shelter from car but absolutely nothing not even a crab:confused: 2 blokes had been there bout 4 hrs and had nowt!

weather picked up slightley so decided to give wansbeck ago

fished withrag tipped with mackerel and just rag on its own and nearly every time we reeled in this is wat we got

must of pulled in bout 20+ crabs some were a canny size too and didnt want to let go of our bait:D

then eventually first fish from wansbeck of the day caught by me

then went through loads of rag coz of more crabs, and bout 5 mins before we packed up

really enjoyed day not aload of action, but nice to get oot of hoose and catch a few fish.

Just looked out of window and cant belive how sunny it is after raining all morning for us!:mad:
 
welldone lads on braving the weather and fish to show for it but yous got fishing in the end hope this weather settles soon great quality pics too

aye cheers mate, weather seems a canny bit better already, hope to get to st abbs soon though
 
never really fished on tyne apart from ss pier, think al be back out the morra prob wanbeck if its a nice day, really relaxin there:)

I was down Blyth river just for a walk late this afternoon and talked to a couple of lads,they had nowt either

dont thinks its up to much mate, tried harbour quite a few times recentley and had nowt apart from crabs eating bait:)

Pretty much how i have found it as a rule.
But for a easy couple of hours to use up the bait there is always the chance.
I did have a 2 pound cod out there one year
 
aye thats why a go mate its just easy just a pity not many fish caught in there, years ago a used to catch quite a few whiting just where the lifeboat area is
 
Nice one mate.

Blyth's been rubbish for a long time now, can remember some cracking days there in the 80's but rarely caught owt there since.

Wansbeck is one of my favourite spots, I usually fish on the little harbour wall just along to the left from your pics there, it's falling apart badly now mind. Seems to have been slow there this year so far, but I'm hoping it'll pick up, had some cracking flatty sessions there some years with just light gear.
