dont forget

dont forget

done this twice, when fishing with a mate, dont presume because they rang you to suggest going out that , thay are buying the bait, turned up twice after the phone call,, got onto the beach, set up the rod ect, then turned to my mate asking what bait did you get? his reply "thought you were getting it" --- had 20 minuets casting practice then cleared off to the pub,,

re hooks

re hooks

A hook sharpener,, soz mate couldnt resist it, I bought a set of oil stones from the pound shop had 4or5 stones in it, one of them was a small stone about the size of a pkt of rizla, spot on for touching up a hook thats been used a few times, take a can of oil (small) with you, that allways commes in handy, also Wd 40 2 knives spare line, I could go on for hours, and take up 2 tackle boxes

always keep a check list ,hooks, line, sinkers, reels etc so you know that you have every thing in your tackle box , have done this every time i go fishing since the time i went out for a shesh opened my tackle box at the mark and realized I'd left my reels on the shelf in my garage after cleaning them. :o

I know

Been there, done it & got the Tshirt, or forgotten it as in that case, Once in a hurry to get to a mark,a good mile walk from the car, got all the gear out decided to put my waders on trudged to the spot sweating like a pig,, left the rod in the boot of the car, had my rod rest , was well Pd off. 3 miles in waders,I dont reccomend it

Try walking down with your bait in a seperate bag at horden beach, then while crossing the rails you put your bait down to climb over some fences.

Then not picking it up and going to the beach and thinking !@%#. having to walk up that hill and back to get it.

Now think of it in your waders.... my waders were wetter on the inside due to me sweating my danglies off running up and down that hill lol.

Dont forget you woolie hat when you park your car up at the top in Seaham then go all the way down to the end of the pier and stand with a freezing cold head then walk back for your hat and be lathered when you get it.

re a mate of mine

re a mate of mine

No names but He"s called Col- there are times when we ring each other for an instant fish. did it to him a few years ago.Got a runner from work, shot down to Temples for the bait, grabbed all the gear for the boat, gave him a buzz, "At the Boat House, weather spot on, tide great for launching, see you in 20 mins, magic he says on me way,, canny session a few cod, a macky or two, sun shining. great early evening chuck, landed the boat, cleaned it up,washed down the engine, shot off to the Kittywake for afew beers,Gets back to Colins flat-- front door missing smoke all over the place, a Fire Engine parked outside ,It didnt take long to put 2&2 together, he had started to cook his tea, forgot all about it, and went fishing for about 5 hours .I think the sausages were cooked but only just,.He wasnt a happy chappy,he still gets ribbed for it,

Haha! Remember your peg number, Mick Dunn will tell you I yomped right past him at Aldeburgh last year convinced my number was by the guy with the black beach buddy only to find he wasn't in the match. Neoprene waders, sinking into shingle, loaded up with rods, buddy etc and the sun shining I collapsed for five when I made it back :hallucine:
