first few marks visited produced ling to 12 1/2 lb and the days best cod of 6 lb:)

then the pesky tide and wind made wrecking a waste of tme and tackle:(

off to the ground it was, which produced mackarel and some decent coalies in abundance
fortunately this squad have had a couple of decent trips this year,so hopefully they havent wriiten us off yet:)

when the ling was gutted 2 partly digested mackarel were removed:exclam:

water was dirty to aboot 3 mile off:exclam: rippers did nowt shads did nowt, mackarel probs best bait on the day on any type hokki or day light:)

Were the fish taken on the ebb tide then Duncan? because lately I've had fish on the ebb and then after the tide turned it's all gone quiet , which is contrary to what I'm told is more usual in that the fish feed better on the flood tide  A double ling and a 6lb cod will do me nicely next time I'm out ;):D

A 12.1/2lb ling's a nice fish as is a 6lb cod:) There just hasn't been a day where the wind hasn't freshened for a long time now. With all the rain and rough seas, it's gonna take a while to clear properly. The punters will know it's down to conditions on the day:(

Good read Duncan :), Sure the punters realise the season is backing off a bit, i'm out tomorrow so think i'll take some frozen crab and get a few macky for bait.
