Trout at Kielder

Few questions:

What's the season for Trout? IE dates etc

Anyone fished Kielder before? Can you just roam about within reason - appreciate there's some no go areas etc

What kind of rod is best suited for float fishing?

Been a looong time since a did any kind of fresh water fishing but I was chatting to someone the other day about him fishing at Kielder and it got me interested

The most important item to take....................Quality insect repellent.
The little fekkers can be a real pest and really spoil your day.
Avon Skin so soft takes some beating....

As 'Bushwackers' says (or not) but its them FUC+++G Midges!!!!
Kielder is a rubbish fishing location. Its HUGE and filled with tiny trout, and if its warm and it rains then you have to give up as those Midges are just impossible.
Its an acidic Loch, with nothing of quality, really Crap.
Dont believe me, get on the Swedish/Norwegian websites and see what they say!
