Fished Tweeddale along with my mates Sheppie and Ronnie, arrived at the fishery about 08.10 and there were fish topping on the middle lake so after getting our 6hr tickets we made our way to the far end of the lake.
As usual we started with different set-ups to suss out the best patterns and Bloodworm soon became the main taker, this was made up of 5 rainbow beads for the body, 2 black flexyfloss either end of the hook for legs and a leg either side tied behind the second bead nearest the hook eye. Pink, Green bloodworm accounted for a few of our fish but black was the deadliest.
We tried buzzers with no effect, CDCs gave a couple of fish but for some reason bloodworm was definately the one to use.
By 12.00 my count was in the twenties, Ronnies 9 and Sheppie 4.
The fish we C/R were of a cracking quality and averaging 3lb in weight, there were loads of fish to be had and one of the Scot lads had a couple of doubles that he successfully released.
Overall, a brilliant day, good company and loads of fish to keep the rod bending, what more could one want.
cheers seddo
