I have been interested in a long time now about finding info and pics about the wrecks out of the Tyne, i would like to know what wreck i am fishing what it was,how it went down etc...can anyone recommend a good book or two.

Cheers

there\'s a book I\'ve been meaning to buy in waterstones richy, which lists about 400 wrecks from berwick to the tees with pictures of some of em before they went down.

there\'s 2 volumes. vol 1 list wrecks prior to 1917, vol 2 wrecks from 1918 to 2000

there\'s a deal on amzon where you can get both for 23 quid. Don\'t know why I haven\'t bought em already as they give co-ordinates and the diving/angling potential as well.

watch this there\'ll be a run on them now!

..............while stocks last :o (remember the RoyDs....lol)

Richy,
Not sure, but I think they may be the ones Dave has.
He\'s mentioned having books on N.E. wrecks written by a a guy who\'s dived on them - infact we\'ve often fished over 1 or 2 he\'s recommended.

I think your on about Peter Collings Tony had one of his books on NE wrecks and found it very comprehensive with lots of pics and vessel details

Try here as well

arrived this morning (you gotta love amazon for that really) amazing how many wrecks, and some big uns as well, lie within half a mile of the piers!

gps co-ordinates for every wreck in the book. It says its comprehensive, but there\'s no mention of a couple of the more popular wrecks?

We fished \"The Aeroplane\" which can\'t be far off casting distance from the south pier (well for some people :D) on wednesday night and did really well from it.
