would like to ask as i get mixed views on this i was told the police helicopter mark jarrow hebburn area fishes best two hrs off low water on ebb to 1hr into flood.

was told to cast north east dirction and on a real big tide stand on square concrete pillar to wind in so as your line does not catch on police perimeter area.

quest is whats what wth this mark good or no good on ebb

no talking realy about flood tide.

For me mate fish it from the first of the flood to 1 hr after on a big tide. you'll get a feel it as it ebbs, which a lot of the times does not tally with tide books. personally I'm off as it starts to ebb, but you can get into the tide on the ebb, so its like out else, its not an exact science. Distance is also an issue so don't be scared to hoy one short.

Hello John,
I prefer to fish the flood mate. If you fish near the launch then you might want to wait for an hour or two into the flood to clear the rocks and weed at the bottom of the river bank.
Quite often the bites ease off about an hour before high tide.

Fished it twice last week bottom tide up had all sized codling the first 3 hours of the flood then picking up undersized fish until an hour before high when I packed in. Small hook lug worm and a good cast into the channel produced the best of the sized codling.

1 that took a whiting that was already hooked.

I don't think so John. Never personally caught anything other than the odd small fish on the ebb mate.

It tends to fish better on the flooid in my eyes. Never really had much on the ebb either stand on the drain or fish up just past it. Tide pulls you round fast tho.
